Evening Meeting

Details: THURSDAY 28 NOVEMBER : EVENING MEETING
Community House (rear of YMCA Building Liardet Street), 7pm sharp

Our guest speaker will be Renee Davies, Ron Lambert's daughter. She is an award winning landscape architect and ecologist who is past president and Fellow of the NZ Institute of Landscape Architects and an accredited member of the Garden Design Society of NZ who has over 23 years' experience working in private practice and local government.

Her personal highlights include a famous potager garden in France, South African Dutch farm Babylonstoren and ethnobotanical landscapes in Samoa, Japan and the Bornean rainforest.
Her presentation will show-case ethnobotanical plant use, which provides for human-nature interaction for food, medicine, textile and dyes.
She has reviewed design projects from throughout NZ and is currently Principal Landscape architect with 4Sight Consulting.

The evening will conclude with supper.

 

The Gables Volunteer Gardening Group

Each Thursday 9am - 11am we meet at The Gables and work in the beautiful perennial borders and garden beds that surround the building. Many hands make light work and no gardening experience required. Tools provided.

 

Wanderers' walks

Leave from the Bellringer Pavilion at 10.30am- 12 noon every 3rd Monday unless an alternative starting point is advised (watch Midweek).


The Curator's walks.

take place every 1st Tuesday of the month, leaving from the same venue.


The monthly evening meetings

With a speaker and supper will take place at the Citizens' Advice Bureau rooms near the YMCA on Liardet Street. These meetings are held from 7pm on the 4th Thursday monthly.
